We accomplish our mission through programming, communications, and resources that enhance personal and professional development, inclusive and equitable workplaces, and develop supportive, collaborative relationships across the University.

Leadership in Academic Matters Program (LAM)
A weekly semester-long program leadership development program for UVA faculty in leadership roles and select staff.

ACC Academic Leaders Network
Five UVA faculty are selected to participate in a year-long leadership development program with faculty participants from all Atlantic Coast Conference universities.

Leadership Coaching
Confidential, structured conversations to develop skills and habits to serve more effectively as leaders.

Coaching to Navigate Faculty Careers
Confidential, one-on-one and small group coaching for faculty seeking help with challenges.

University Mentoring Program
A group of first-year faculty meet with two senior faculty for a monthly meal to discuss issues of concern for new faculty.

Growing External Mentors (GEMS)
Supports tenure track faculty building relationships with mentors external to UVA.

UVA Acts
Through performance and dialogue, UVA Acts promotes preventative practices that foster equitable, vibrant spaces for working and learning.

Equitable Faculty Workload Initiative
Center FWD continues to collaborate with the leadership of the schools to implement workload dashboards and equitable service assignment processes.

Saying No: Workshops for Faculty
Learn when and how to say no to service requests in order to say yes to other professional and personal priorities.

Search and Promotion and Tenure Committee Workshops
Learn how to mitigate the impacts of bias during evaluations of candidates and to promote inclusion and equity in faculty search processes and promotion and tenure evaluations.

Faculty Mental Health Collaborations
Center FWD is partnering with the Faculty Employee Assistance Program (FEAP) to provide care that is tailored specifically to challenges and stresses faced by faculty, and Telehealth Mental Health care is available through UVA Aetna insurance.
